QwikLite™ 200 Testing System Exhibited at China's Largest Water Convention
Carlsbad, California, April 16, 2007 — Over the last year, the government of China has increased their expenditures and focused greater attention on the promotion of environmental protection. This is evidenced by the size and growth of the annual Water Supply and Drainage and Water Treatment Exhibition 2007 (WSDWTF) convention in Shanghai, China (April 27-29). The floor area of the 22,000 square meter exhibit has increased by 35%, with over 700 exhibitors. Asia Water Solutions Company Limited (AWSC, Ltd.), the exclusive distributor of products for Assure Controls, Inc. will be attending this meeting for the first time and will feature The QwikLite™ 200 Testing System.

Seeking technology solutions and innovative approaches, the WSDWTF is co-planned and promoted by the State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA), the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the Shanghai Environmental Protection Industry Association, and the Shanghai Water Purification Institute. During the current period of the "Five-year Country Plan", the Chinese government has allocated 700 billion RMB (~ $90B US), accounting for 1.3% GNP. There are plans under way to spend approximately 800 billion RMB (~$104B US) to make the country's water supply meet international standards. According to the WSDWTF promoters, it has been estimated that the losses caused by the environment problems each year are approximately 320 billion RMB (~$41.5B US). As a result, forecasters predict that China will become the largest market for investors in environmental protection, and that the demands for environmental products will increase significantly.
"AWSC is very excited about attending this year's WSDWTF," noted Kevin Ho, Chairman of Asia Water Solutions, Limited. "From our Hong Kong offices, we are ready to engage in this market as quickly as applications present themselves. We look forward to many interesting meetings during the course of the convention."
From Assure Controls, Bryan Bjorndal, President and CEO, and Mickele Hughes Bragg, Product Manager, will attend the WSDWTF meeting in Shanghai in support of AWSC's exhibit.

About Assure Controls, Inc.
Founded in 2005, the company's first product, The QwikLite™ 200 Testing System was introduced in 2006. QwikLite™ uses a patented technology that allows rapid onsite detection of contaminants at toxic levels in water and sediments. One of the market's first semi automated methods to use bioindicators, the system uses sensitive bioluminescent plankton in small cartridges to assess both inorganic and organic substances. As toxicity increases, bioluminescence decreases. The U.S. Navy conducted the original research, discovered this relationship, and Assure Controls received the exclusive commercial rights.
