Assure Controls Finalist in AeA's High Tech Awards

Carlsbad, California, September 19, 2007 — The AeA announced that Assure Controls, Inc. is a finalist in the 14th Annual High Tech Awards in the Analytical Instrumentation category. The winner will be announced at an Awards Luncheon on October 19, 2007 at the Hilton Torrey Pines Hotel, La Jolla, California. All finalists are featured at the lunch. Other finalists in the category are Cymer, Luxtera and Sequoia Communications.

AeA, formerly American Electronics Association, is a nationwide non-profit trade association that represents all segments of the technology industry. The AeA assists small, medium and large member companies by lobbying governments at the state, federal and international levels; providing access to capital and business opportunities and offering select business services and networking programs.

The 2007 High Tech Award is for the company's portable and rapid system for detection of contaminants at toxic levels in water. The QwikLite™ 200 uses sensitive optics and a species of naturally occurring bioluminescent plankton in disposable kits as a means of determining toxicity in water and sediment samples. When levels of contaminants are at harmful levels, the bioluminescence is reduced or completely eliminated. "To be recognized as a finalist in the technology-rich San Diego region is greatly appreciated by the company," stated Bryan Bjorndal, President of Assure Controls, Inc.
